Pottery Wheel Workshops – Skill Development

These workshops are designed for individuals who want to deepen their pottery wheel skills and acquire new, practical ceramic techniques. This is an ideal offering for both those who already have some experience with the wheel and those who wish to consciously develop their technique under the guidance of an instructor.

Each session lasts 3 hours, providing ample time to thoroughly go through the entire creative process – from preparing the clay, through centering, forming vessels on the wheel, to further off-wheel finishing. Participants will focus on improving movement precision, shape control, wall thickness, and form stability.

During the workshops, topics such as:

- working with various amounts of clay

- building taller and more complex forms

- error correction and technique strengthening

- fundamentals of finishing, trimming bases, and details such as: various techniques for making mug handles.

- tips on how to work consciously and effectively on the wheel

- creating various shapes such as: vases, plates, various cylinder shapes, bowls, etc.

The workshops take place in a cozy atmosphere, conducive to concentration, experimentation, and an individual approach to each participant. This is a time for practice, development, and creative satisfaction, without haste or pressure for the final outcome.

The course will be led by Marysia from Hopies Ceramics @hopiesceramics.pl. She has many years of experience in conducting pottery workshops and working with clay.

Organizational matters:

- Each session lasts 3 hours, including cleanup time

- Workshops are held weekly on Tuesdays from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM. You can also sign up for the same workshops in a package of 5 sessions, which is more cost-effective.

- Maximum number of participants: 4 people. This allows the instructor to dedicate an appropriate amount of attention to everyone.

- Tea, coffee, and cookies available for refreshment

- Workshops will take place with a minimum of 2 participants
